Year Round Tire Recycling Program
Tuscola County Recycling Center accepts tires year round from County residents for a small charge per tire. Thanks to a grant from the Mosquito Abatement program and our Recycling Center’s millage, we are able to keep the cost per tire for our residents to a minimum. We ask that residents bring their tires into our center Monday through Friday 8:00AM until 4:00 PM. Here is the current price list:
Car tire $1.00 per tire
Car tire with rim $2.00 per tire
Semi truck or trailer tire $5.00 per tire
Semi truck or trailer tire with rim $10.00 per tire
Tractor tire $20.00 per tire
Tractor tire with rim $40.00 per tire
Please be prepared to help unload your tires as help may be limited. We ask that if you have more than ten (10) tires at a time that you call ahead for assistance. We do not accept any tires that are on any type of axle. Please make sure that the tires are free of debris and water. We charge double the listed price for out of county residents.
All tires collected through our program are recycled locally. For additional information, please contact us at (989) 672-1673 or email recycle@tuscolacounty.org. We accept tires Monday through Friday 8:00AM to 4:00PM and are closed on holidays. You may also check out our website at www.tuscolacounty.org/recycling for additional information on all of our recycling programs.

Cellular Phone Recycling Available Year Round
Tuscola County Recycling Center accepts cellular phones, rechargeable batteries and power cords year round, free of charge from all area residents and businesses. According to the EPA, 130 million cellular phones will go out of use this year in the United States. That creates an estimated 65,000 tons of electronic garbage. It is also estimated that there are over 700 million retired phones in the U.S., most of which are just sitting around people’s homes.
Are you one of the many cell phone users that has a drawer full of old phones and accessories? Now is the time to clean out the cupboards! Tuscola County Recycling Center is open Monday through Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm and the third Saturday of each month from 9:00am to 1:00pm. The Recycling Center is a County operated facility and is closed on the same holidays as the County Courthouse. For additional information, please contact the Recycling Center at (989) 672-1673 or email recycle@tuscolacounty.org.
